DESTRUCTION OF SPECIAL EDUCATION RECORDS Fremont County School District #14-Wyoming Indian Schools- will be destroying inactive Special Education student records. All student files with a 2015-2016 school year graduation date and files for students no longer receiving services since that date will be permanently destroyed. Anyone wishing to obtain personal records should contact the FCSD #14 Special Education office at (307) 332-2992 or visit the Special Education office at Wyoming Indian Middle School (WIMS) before June 23, 2023.

Fremont County School District #14 will facilitate a Title VI - Office of Indian Education Parent Committee meeting on Thursday, May 11, 2023. Time: 5:30 PM Location: WIHS Library Fremont County School District 14 has the opportunity to apply for US Department of Education, Office of Indian Education, Title VI funding for School Year 2023-2024. It is the purpose of the Title VI Office of Indian Education program to support the efforts of local educational agencies (school districts) to meet the “unique educational and culturally related academic needs of Indian students”. The Title VI program ensures that Indian students gain the knowledge and understanding of their Native community, their Native Language, Tribal history, traditions and culture. The Title VI OIE program ensures that teachers and respective school district staff who serve Indian students have the ability to provide culturally appropriate and effective instruction and supports to Native students.

Dear Parents and Guardians: Due to the impending winter storm, we will be having a temporary virtual snow day tomorrow, April 4th. The district will be closed. Please check your email, website, and chiefs nation for further information regarding the virtual snow day.

IMPORTANT NOTICE - FEBRUARY 21, 2023 Dear Parents and Guardians: A storm is moving in Tuesday evening and we want to be prepared in the event we need to call a snow day and close the district. Fremont County School District #14 has been working on establishing a virtual learning plan for Wednesday and/or Thursday if needed. Alerts about virtual snow days and/or late start will be sent to you as a text message and email. It will also be posted on Chiefs Nation, the District website, and County 10. Due to the short notice, FCSD#14 has decided not to send chromebooks home with Elementary and Middle School students (PK-8). High school students who have internet access at home may check out a chromebook. Paper assignments for both Wednesday and Thursday will be sent home with all students on Tuesday (2/21/2023). The student work will need to be completed and turned into the teacher when school resumes in order for your child to be counted as present for the virtual snow day(s). Teachers will be marking the student work for each day so you will know what is expected for completion. Teachers will be communicating with parents through Zoom, text, phone, and email during the virtual snow days. Please be looking for information from your student’s teacher. ​WIHS Speech Team took 1st Place Sweepstakes for 1A/2A Schools at the Rock Springs Tiger Classic Speech Tournament 2022!​​ My team addresses topics that impact our people and sometimes they might make some uncomfortable as they speak on issues that we face as indigenous people. They are resilient, they are brave, and I am proud of my team who aren't afraid to speak, to step outside their comfort zone and to "walk in two worlds" discovering new things in life enhancing their educational journey. We look forward to our 2022-23 Speech season and our next meet is November 18-19th in Green River. It will be a huge tournament. We compete against all schools regardless of class. We are grateful to our School Board, our administration and our activity director who have given us the opportunity to represent our school and communities. This is the most excellent start to our season with our team effort in bringing home the Class 1A/2A Sweepstakes 1st Place Trophy home.​ Also we will need community judges when we host our first ever meet - a one day Novice Meet on December 3rd! We will be posting a judging volunteer form on Chiefs Nation next week! Also I want to acknowledge my volunteer assistant coach Rebecca Iron Cloud​ and my accompanying judge Raphael Youngchief​. Please remind your student to get on the after school bus. If changing buses at the high school, do so quickly so as not to miss the bus going home. Due to a shortage of bus drivers, if a student misses the after school bus route, parents/guardians will be called to pick them up at school. If we are unable to make contact with parents/guardians or emergency contact, the student will ride the Activity bus home at 5:45 if it's available.

Reminder and additions: Oct 31 the after school buses will run at 5:00 to get students home earlier for Halloween. MS and Youth Wyoming Indian Wrestling Tournament has been moved to Nov 5th. This will be run at the HS and start time is 9:30. In Addition to the schedule Monday Nov 7 YGB will travel to Riverton and play at 4:30 & 5:30. Games will be played at the Rend. gym. Monday Nov 14 Riverton will travel to Wyoming Indian Elem. gym and play at 4:30 and 5:30.
